Our Commitment
A Letter of Our Commitment To You,
As a licensed dietetic technician, and by trade, food service director, I am regularly asked how I can reconcile my training in nutrition with my business of selling cookies. “Friends don’t let friends eat junk”, to quote a local whole foods grocer. Our cookies use only unsalted butter, pure vanilla, fresh eggs, and flour you can trust. We use no products that are processed with trans fats, including our high quality chocolates and jams. We like to think if a cookie is artful enough to please both eye and palette from cookie to cookie, box to box, it doesn’t have to be super-sized; and we bake to order to ensure your selections arrive and stay fresh.
Diet techs are also thoroughly trained in food safety, and a clean, sanitary facility matters. Serving safe food is not an option; it is an obligation and a responsibility. Having received certification in both Serv-Safe and HACCP, two safe food handling systems, I am qualified and committed to serving food safely.
Customer service: it is another reason why we bake to order. Our goal is to provide you with a product that is more than you expect, one that caters to your taste and occasion. Filling special request orders is what separates The Sweet Specialist from other cookie makers.
Last is our commitment to our environment and to reduce our carbon footprint. Behind the scenes, we have invested in Blue Star Energy equipment, strive to package our cookies in earth-friendly materials, and use means other than chemicals to sanitize when possible . . . And always practice the Three R’s, reduce—reuse—recycle!
These, then, are our commitments to you. We thank you for visiting with us and hope that you’ll like what you see enough to try our product. After all, tasting is believing!
Very Sincerely,
Deanna Weaver and all of Us at The Sweet Speciali
